People that age can be cruel. Just find new friends. My 3rd year in college was horrible. All my "friends" started treating me like crap. I think they kept me around just to make fun of. Starting my 4th year, I decided I would make new friends and a fresh start....and I did.

OP here! I don't think I was trying to hard, I made sure to be friendly and more talkative but not over do it. Sometimes I think I actually didn't speak up enough or try hard enough and they got sick of my shyness. Who knows. To the other commenter, thank you. I have been trying to find new friends here. :)

Get used to that. People are not very genuine(including you it sounds like..figure that out quick)they will leave you for someone they feel is cooler or can get them somewhere or whatever, peopel are not true friends...it's a very rare thing if you got one.

^ thats true about the guy friends thing. I always was a chick who had ONE girl friend who was the best girl friend I could meet anyway, but I always had a bunch of guy friends cuz I was fun and didn't care so much about my hair and nails and shit and guys could be them gross ass selves around me and I wouldn't flinch. That has it's consequences too...you can't fall for your guy friends number one and number two Chicks HATE you because you have a lot of guy friends and aren't a slut :/ Thats why I say f*** it and do what makes you happy because no matter what you are doing someone will be there hating.

Some people are very shallow. Wish I could tell you it will be different when you get older. Some people mature, while others never do. I learned one very difficult lesson when I decided to eliminate all disqualifiers and accepted anyone as a friend. When you do that, you wind up with sh*tty friends. Most adults have one or two, THREE AT BEST, people in their lives whom they really trust, so don't be too disappointed.
