Marriage is a lousy deal for men. They're programmed for promiscuity, and suddenly can no longer act on that impulse. If you get divorced as a man, you can end up paying extortion rate child support, even if your wife remarries. If you marry American, you can bet on a lifetime of "I deserve..." and "I'm so special..."Living together as independent equals is the way to go. Marriage is antiquated hooey.

2^ If you're talking genetic programming, that's bullshit. Female humans don't go through estrus either. If you're talking about social programming, not all men are programmed for promiscuity, usually depends on the culture they are raised in (heterosexist cultures tend to have more mensluts). The ones that are programmed, the macho men, can and do get over it all the time in order to live emotionally fulfilling lives.

1^ Neither human history nor the evidence of evolutionary psychology supports this. The *majority* of cultures are male dominated. Reality is not an Oprah episode. 70s feminism has all the credibility of Freudian psychology (i.e. none). If you really think genetic programming is bullshit, you might actually READ A TEXTBOOK (radical concept, I know). Start with E.O. Wilson's sociobiology and then move on to the rest.Read. Go slow. Take your time. Think it through.

"Evidence" of evolutionary psychology is inference and assumption. Human history is the history of male-dominated civilizations, because it writes off as undeserving of attention all the cultures outside the dominant civilizations as prehistoric. Try a little anthropology. I do not think all genetic programming is bullshit, just this case. The inane comments you included here are to support an untenable position for which you offer no evidence. What's the point of reading a text, if you can't use any evidence from it to make an actual argument?
