^must be a woman. Ya, I tend to agree. They can remember that stupid thing you said at their parents 16 years ago, but can't figure out why their car makes funny noises when they don't push the pedal on the far left down when moving the little stick thingy in the middle.

I have to laugh I went back to college in my mid 30's. I wondered if I was that ignorant at that early 20's time time frame in my life. Now in my 40's I am just a geek.

I am an older adult. I presented this to my psychology professor a few semesters ago. I recognized the issues with other students about the critical thinking problems. I told him that few students participate in class discussion. It was the same way in my sociology class. My psych. professor said it is because today's American education system is geared toward the state-mandated minimum requirement tests. Schools are teaching only to pass those tests. I believe he is right.
