Why do you have to take your son away with you? I doubt he is miserable, why bring him in on this...you are the one who was scared to even mention this to your wife. I agree with that last poster...see how she feels and be civil and work something out. Remember please don't make your kid pay the price. Staying together for him isn't right either.

I am a woman married 23 years . Letting go isn't easy but I can tell you it only gets harder the longer time passes . And maybe it isn't that you don't have balls to leave . Maybe you find yourself always remembering the good times when you are thinking of leaving . Your only concern should be for your happiness and that of your child . If parents are not happy most of the time the kids are not happy either . It took my kids growing up and telling me themselves before I had a clue that they were not happy either. But I am still with their father and I am still not happy. My advice is if she does not make you happy try to get out now before you waste more of your life with someone that you don't want to be with anymore.

Is she THAT bad? Talk to each other. Have a real conversation without yelling or getting mad. If you can't do that then write letters until you find your voice. TRY to make it better because you took your vows in front of family and friends and GOD! Till death do you part so you might as well TRY to change things for the better. You got together in the first place so there HAS to be something there. Find a way to work it out. People that leave don't know how to talk and fix things so the next relationship will end up the same.
