I was silent for so long about being gay. When I came out, you (my step-dad) said mean things. Your son (my step-brother) came to me after; we had sex twice.

I don't feel there is anything wrong with being gay. It is how you were born and you put up with a ton of shit coming into this world this way. You didn't need to add to your problems by having sex with your step brother out of resentment. You have every right to be resentful but there are better ways of dealing with it that will help you not hurt you further.

^Well for one thing, being gay doesn't hurt anyone. Pedophiles are dangerous because they prey on children who can't defend themselves, thus infringing on human rights. It is true however that like homosexuals, they are also born that way. Homosexuality and pedophilia can also be found in the animal kingdom. As a final note, you seriously need to work on your written communication skills. To OP: I would love to see the look on your step-dad's face if you told him!

I think it's funny. It's funny how a lot of these "family values" and "christian gentlemen" turn out to be closet gays; I have seen this many times.

I have never bothered coming out to my family. My folks are successful blue collar people, who are good people, well respected in our small city. Their lives center around the parish, and the charities for which they volunteer. My siblings are college grads too, and they are pretty much like my parents. If I were to come out, my folks would think "We did something wrong." I have a female friend, and we "cover" for each other at holidays, family gatherings, company dinners, and civic functions. It works for us. Everybody has to do what works for them and does not disrupt their family, and create needless drama for others. (Peace to all)
