I think it starts with doing what you did - declaring that you will not allow yourself to be used again. Keep telling yourself that you deserve better. Use your past experience to look for signs of someone who will try to use you and move on. Keep moving until you meet someone who can be with you mutually. You won't be alone forever.

I am over 60, divorced, still have a strong sex drive and still date when I find a man I'm really attracted to mentally and physically. I agree with the OP that men, after a while, always seem to turn to lies. Then when they lie, I won't see them anymore. With the sex thing and waiting, I don't have sex with a man until I know we are in a committed relationship. The waiting weeds out some but the ones that do wait and appreciate me for who I am have enhanced my life in many ways, Trouble is,,,, I'm feeling burned out from being lied to time after time. And the guys lie about little things that don't even matter, Then when I stop seeing them, the explain the lie was just a small thing. And I say....THEN, why did you lie ??? GUYS out there, why do mean lie. I am not seeing anyone now and miss male companionship a lot. Still feel and look sexy and know how to be a good partner, mentally and physically. But now I am almost scared to start looking again. I keep looking inside to see what I am doing that would cause men to lie. I am not demanding, am gentle, very feminine, yet smart, good job, home, etc... Would like to know what to do differently?
