I don't begrudge his service, but it's been 6 years since he's been out and I wish he could stop acting like it was the best time in his life...what about us?

What's wrong with him acting like that? He risked his life so we can live free and you want to begrudge him that? Instead of trying to reshape his world, why not try to fit into his. For God's sake, why does EVERYONE have to change for you!

While the military service can be good and shape men and women up, it can also lead to so much negativity after service life, and during service life - I often wonder what the divorce and cheating rate is on the total military service ? Any one know ?

^^No, I do not know, but I bet it is rampant. I was in Norfolk. You heard about women f***ing around on their husbands all the time.

^^^ He has been out for 6 years and still acts like nothing will ever be as good as that time. What I am asking is what about his family? What about his new daughter? Aren't we something good now?

That man is proud of what he did for this country, for you, for your daughter. How dare you try to take that from him??? There's a whole lot wrong with that.

I've been out for 30 years. Went around the world and two county fairs. You couldn't even imagine what I've seen and done. I don't talk about it. But a lot of the memories still bring a smile to my face. Some of it was the best. Some the worst. But nothing can ever compare. Thank God.

I got news for you....I've been out for almost 19 years, and he's right. Nothing WILL ever be as good as that. In 8 years time, I assisted in the liberating of a conquered country, the capturing of a drug lord, and the freeing of unjustly detained college students. All the while, preserving freedom and a way of life that is loved by many. While I was doing this, I accepted your personal safety and freedom as my personal responsibility. It meant something. In the 19 years since then, I've been in the corporate world, made a damn good living for me, and a much better one for my employers....and none of it has meant a damn thing to anyone. Except a few a** ****s who value money above all else.

I hear all these vets here! I was not a marine or a green beret or a paratrooper. I didn't fly a chopper or a jet, and I didn't command a ship. I did my duty in time of war as did millions of other Americans, and that's enough for me. (US Army 1969 - 1972)
