I am 47 years old and if I was to die now, there would be no one to care. I have no one in the world that loves me. Absolutely no one.

You were created by God, you have a purpose and that is why you are still here. Find a local church and talk with people there. I promise you would have more people miss you than you know.

Well, I'm married with two kids and I feel the same way. If I died today, there would be no one to carry my casket. No one cares.

What state are you in ?Please know that many of us feel alone. It is more common than you'd think. However, I have felt "More Alone" when with someone else.....in a bad relationship.I'd rather be absolutely alone than to be with someone who didn't care. That tree and wooden walk looks like a place in South Georgia. Is that where you live ?

I AGREE....Go to the Human Society and adopt a precious animal who truly has no one. You cannot imagine the love and companionship a pet can give you. Please do something so that you can get out of this depression. It is sad.

4 up: I agree. When I went through a divorce I felt totally alone. My dog was there for me and gave me hugs anytime I needed them, which was often. I would hold him and just weep. His eyes told me he wished he could do more. He has been gone for many years and I still think of him to this day for being there for me in my darkest moments. Op: Really, you need a kind dog or cat just so you can have a companion in your presence. It will help you immeasurably. I promise.

Please listen to how many suggested getting a dog or cat. It can literally change your life. And if you "rescue" a sweet animal...they will "rescue you".

If you died, would you really care? I'm not even stressing about who will or will not attend my funeral or care a week later about it. I'll be dead and gone and it won't matter to me a bit. Carry on.

So many people are lonely... living lives of quiet isolation as some poet wrote... find a support group of some kind where people REALLY talk... openly and honestly... or a therapist... those things and anti-depressants helped me (oh, and I have two wonderful dogs who worship the ground I walk on... it honestly helps).

I certainly understand where you are coming from.At times it seems that all I have are folks I know but no real friends.I call them "mouth service friends." Where are you from? and what do you do to meet people. At 47 you are still a young person, feeling that way is debilitating, but you do have the power and ability to change it.
