You know what, a spectrum of emotions and changes is natural. Don't buy into the lie that you have a personality disorder or are bipolar. Maybe who you are is so much bigger than what people are conditioned to be. Don't be scared, explore it.

i had the same problem for years and while it can feel scary to lose time and not be able to feel in control its not as bad as you think...one of my friends is a multiple and each of her alters have there own facebook pages! they have very interesting conversations with each other lol :) check out dissociative identity disorder awareness page on facebook for more support from people like us....and see if you can find a somatic experiencing therapist in your area....but dont try to medicate this problem away, they do not work for people with DID the way schizophrenic meds work. education about what is going on with you can have life altering results (no pun intended haha!) and i wish you well :)

^^please do not tell someone who is struggling with a mental illness that personalities disorders do not exist. when a person experiences severe trauma as a child (and sometimes a an adult depending on the severity and exposure period) they will split from their core self and create alter identities as a coping mechanism to deal with trauma. there are many well documented techniques that will cause these types of splits...the united states government used to experiment on human subjects all the time in order to study the human mind and a persons ability to cope with major stress including but not limited to electroshock therapy, insulin induced comas, sensory deprivation, severe physical abuse, sever sexual abuse, forcing a person to abuse others, dental torture ect....and it is well documented. the fact is that many children experience these types of abuse during childhood from their parents or abusers and it has a defining affect on the rest of their lives. while i agree with you that human emotion is a great spectrum and its okay to feel a broad range of emotion at any given time, it is not okay to discredit a persons mental health issues if they suffered from severe abuse at any point in their life. post traumatic stress disorder is very real and so are personality disorders caused specifically by traumatic events. medicating these problems away are not the answer...just a cover up.

(continued)a person who is struggling with this needs to be able to openly express themselves and learn good grounding techniques as well as help moving forward towards integration or understanding of all their parts and why they came to be. op, love every part of you, they all make you who you are and have a greater purpose!!!

You are NOT alone..I have the same issues.See a psychologist. Talk about it. And meds DO help. I wish you well.

If the OP, is claiming to be DID then the above advice is mostly correct. But if the OP is just talking about mood changing - it's normal but society is being told it is not so psychiatric drugs can be sold. Dissociative Identity Disorder is not a "personality disorder" or a mental illness. It is a survival coping mechanism from extreme abuse. It is called a mental illness to keep the person further stuck and disempowered. Much of psychiatry is just a mind control system. Wake up please.

And agreed! Don't try to medicate the problem away! Most of these drugs do more harm than good. Counseling is very helpful, remembering all of the things dissociated from.

What you have is probably "borderline personality disorder." It might be a short cycle bipolar disorder if you go way UP and then way DOWN in your moods. Lithium and depakote can help with bipolar. Borderline personality disorder requires cognitive therapy. There's no one chemical cure for it, although SSRIs like Prozac or Zoloft may help somewhat.A somewhat less likely possibility is schizophrenia. If your relationship with your body or god changes as you change, or if you hear voices, it's probably that. It's a pain in the rear as diseases go, but it's *very* treatable with Clozapine.Best advice? See a psychiatrist (not a therapist or psychologist). A psychiatrist is a medical doctor who can prescribe.Good luck!

"Borderline personality disorder" is another made up illness lable designed mostly for people who experienced a lot of abuse in their life, were conscious of it the whole time and became really pissed off about it < as they should be. "Bipolar" is another made up BS illness for people who have intense spectrum of emotion and energy. There is NO biological evidence that these are disorders or disease people! They tell you this to sell you drugs!

OP here.. I do not use any drugs. Even "pot" Im just extremely introverted or extremely extroverted. And mostly the extrovert is brought on with alcohol. Theres no happy medium. It could be just depression. But then again alcohol is supposed to be a depressant, yet it brings me way UP. As do evening hours. Nocturnal almost. I dont hear voices. My moods are just very different. Its like different personalities. I dont want meds besides the ones Im on. So no I dont talk to my psychiatrist about it.... I dont want labels. I just wish I understood myself. I honestly think it could be personalities.... Getting them to meld together would be great. People love me when I drink. Im "fun" Otherwise Im sooo damn quiet...

Alcohol is a drug, dear OP. It is a depressant, as you acknowledged, and you will experience that sooner or later.

...its probably a cute constipation !

OP, you can integrate personlities and get them work together if you are DID but it takes a commitment to yourself to take care of yourself and stand up for yourself. Any wavering from that will only keep the severed pieces of yourself doing thier own thing under a given situation. Do you have any missing memory/time? Were you abused? As for the alcohol, probably a good idea to quit.

2up constipation is never cute. It can only be acute

Perhaps look at the foods that you are eating.. you could have sensitivites to something you are eating. when i eat things like wheat, or dairy, my emotions go totally out to lunch and i get completely depressed. when i eat too many things with heat in them, like chilies and spicy things, i tend to get irritated a lot and stressed out. You could also have low blood sugar... it woudln't hurt to re-evaluate what you eat and see if you can change a couple things to help ease your bodies stress level... best of luck in your quest to balance your body out :)

10^ If you think borderline personality disorder is made up, try living with one.If you think bipolar disorder is made-up and an attempt to sell drugs, go price lithium. Nobody was getting rich on my father-in-law's bipolar disorder. And by the way, you'll embarrass yourself far less in the future if you actually read about a subject before you open your mouth. FYI, my degree is in psych. Yours?
DigitalBubbaRemove this stupid comment

Regardless of the veracity of either of your arguments, it is a fact that bpd and bipolar are made up. I mean, they're not like the ten commandments handed down straight from the Creator, some people with degrees compared notes and made them up.

^2 Your degree is in psych? Makes sense that you would defend your chosen profession despite it being a psuedo science. And people are in fact getting rich on perscribing all kinds of neuroleptics to people of every age groups for made up conditions with no biological foundation.

Psychiatry is the one medical profession, protected by the government, where no disease-causing mechanism is required in defining disease.
