I am a 40yr old woman. I leap into bed each night after I turn off the lights so that the monster under the bed wont get me. Its irrational of me, but very real

I leap into bed for the same reason. I try to leap from as far away as I can so that they can't reach my feet. Yet, when I sleep, I sleep best only if my feet are dangling off of the bed. Go figure! I'm 27. This is only when I sleep alone.

This could be a very real feeling. Something lots of people suffer from. Are you sure you dont have ghosts? Maybe you're really sensitive to them sand can sense when they're around easier than others.

lol. I was afraid of the dark too until I was homeless and had to sleep outside in it. Now it's more comforting than scary.

You're not alone in this belief. I personally know 35 women in the metro DC area with this phobia and their ages are from 38 to 54.

I can't sleep with my arms or legs dangling because my kitty will attack with her sharp claws, I fear my own kitty.:)

That is so sad and sweet- keep your irrational fear, cause the real ones in the world are not going anywhere
