I was also married to a rage-a-holic jerk, but I refused to procreate with him. It was bad enough to have a terrible husband, it was my choice alone to not let him be a terrible father.

I've been an abused wife and mother. I was not going to let my kids grow up thinking that was okay, so I left the jerk and left every man as soon as he hit me. My daughters let men hit them though. WTF? Where did I go wrong? What did I leave out?

Men shouldn't hit women, but damn, some women shouldn't talk like men and act tough and strong like men. I've never hit a woman, but I've been with women that have said provoking stuff to me that if they were a man, we'd have been in a fist fight with blood all over the place. Sometimes women step outside their bounds and it takes a real man not to smack em down to shut them up. Sometimes it's just reactionary and you don't think about it till it's over.
